Terms of Service

Last updated: August 2026

These terms govern your use of Coursebench, an AI-powered instructional design tool that converts subject-matter-expert content into structured course materials. By creating an account or using the application, you agree to these terms.

The service

Coursebench lets you upload content and generate course topics, course maps, architecture documents, assessment briefs and related materials using AI. The service is provided on an ongoing basis and may be updated, changed or discontinued at any time.

Your account

AI-generated content

Course materials generated by Coursebench are produced by AI models and are provided as a drafting aid. AI-generated content can contain errors, omissions or inaccuracies, including in citations, factual claims and compliance-related details. You are responsible for reviewing, editing and verifying all generated content, including checking it against relevant curriculum, accreditation or compliance standards, before using it for teaching, assessment or any other purpose. Coursebench does not guarantee that generated content is accurate, complete or fit for any particular regulatory or accreditation requirement.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use Coursebench to:

Content ownership

You retain ownership of the content you upload. Subject to your compliance with these terms, you own the course materials generated from your content and are free to use them for your own purposes.

Fees and subscriptions

Where Coursebench is offered on a paid subscription basis, pricing and billing terms will be provided separately at the time of purchase. Continued use of a paid plan constitutes acceptance of those terms.

Limitation of liability

Coursebench is provided "as is." To the maximum extent permitted by law, Coursebench is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of the service, including loss arising from errors or inaccuracies in AI-generated content. Nothing in these terms excludes any consumer guarantee or right that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.

Termination

You may stop using Coursebench and close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Australia.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of Coursebench after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
